Who We Are

Brief History of Ampoh Foundation

At Ampoh Foundation, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities and the needy. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to lead a fulfilling and empowered life, regardless of their disabilities and needs.

Established with compassion and a commitment to inclusivity, Ampoh provides variety of services such as recreational programs, in-home training, psychoeducation, healthcare, support services, the Ampoh Foundation from the Heart store, volunteer placement, and giving opportunities to persons in the community. Ampoh Foundation works tirelessly to create a more accessible and supportive world for those facing challenges.

The Ampoh Foundation currently operates in the Birim north district and has adopted 7 towns in Ghana. We also operate a food delivery program, medical resources and related services for seniors, disabled and the needy in the United States. We actively partner with like-minded organizations, community leaders, and volunteers to amplify our impact and create lasting change. Together, we aspire to build a world where individuals with disabilities and daily needs are not only accepted but celebrated for their unique contributions.

Our Mission and Goals

Empowerment Through Inclusion

Accessibility for All

Advocacy for Equality

Innovative Support Programs

Collaborative Impact

Ampoh Foundation envisions a future where individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities, and the needy have: opportunities to live healthy, safe and enjoyable lives, services and supports of the highest quality, promotion of independence and dignity, active participation in decision making, active integration into residing in neighboring communities, loving relationships with families, friends and neighbors, respect for who they are within the communities, freedom to live free of physical and institutional barriers, loyal, fair and equal opportunity work environment, system-wide and personal advocacy to promote a better quality of life.

Ampoh Foundation sees life with all of its challenges, as a task to overcome with the belief that individuals with disabilities and the needy should be treated with respect, compassion and dignity. In Ghana, those with disabilities are treated as if they have bad omens and are often blamed for death in the villages, infertility, failed harvests, and family poverty. People with disabilities and the needy should exercise their right to personal choice and make meaningful decisions. Ideas, priorities and solutions would be developed collectively with these individuals and their families. Services would embody a lifespan approach and respective of individual goals, wants and needs. All facilities would be barrier free, accessible and safe. Recreational opportunities are essential to the overall enhancement of people with disabilities and the needy.

Eric Alimoh founded Ampoh foundation in 2019 in Ghana and 2022 in the United States, an internationally not-for-profit community-based organization serving individuals with disabilities, the needy, elderly, youth development and case management. As these less fortunate individuals are humiliated, discriminated against, and marginalized, Eric Alimoh deems it right to advocate, provide community resources and enable them to live up to their potential, be part of the community and justice for all.
